The now discontinued Weber Rawhide is a rare and beautiful bird. This 2015 model bears Bruce Weber's signature on the label and was made in Bend Oregon when he was still involved with the Weber line of mandolins. The top is a hand graduated red spruce (an uptick from their standard Sitka spruce) and the back and sides are a tightly flamed maple. The ivory/half-herringbone binding and Faded Leather Burst nitrocellulose finish are an inspired look and are reminiscent of the singing cowboy aesthetic. There are a handful of finish dings near the treble side F-hole and another small one just above the tailpiece. There is also some slight button rash (not as extreme as buckle rash) on the center back of the mando. Besides those signs of honest play-wear it is very clean. This includes the original Weber hard shell case.
