The Weber Gallatin Octar is an instrument that is equally as impressive to play as it is to hear or to look at. A nearly immaculate faded leather finish adorns the hand carved solid spruce top and solid mahogany sides and back. The finish is only marred by one small nearly invisible ding on the lower bout if the soundboard. The 23-1/2” scale will feel familiar in the hands of guitar players and yet is short enough to not alienate the mandolin player. Tonally this instrument is rich and bassy and by no means dull. It is as loud as one would expect from an arch top guitar with the Weber name and beautiful clear in tone.
Overall this Weber Octar is in immaculate condition for a used instrument and will make any player looking for a deeper sound with 5ths tuning extremely happy. Oh- and it includes the original Weber hardshell case too.
