The Ute 12" Premium is another excellent open-back banjo from Ome Banjo Co.'s Ute line, geared specifically towards the beginner or intermediate clawhammer player. It's one of the nicest parts banjos currently available, hand-built by living Colorado legend Chuck Ogsbury at the Ome shop in Boulder. All Ute banjos come stock with a side-scooped, solid mahogany neck, as well as a multi-ply maple pot, and a Renaissance head for a bit of added warmth. The Ute 12" Premium comes with 26 brackets rather than the standard 14, giving it a tighter, crisper sound and keeping the head more stably in tune. Included in the price is a padded Ome gig bag.
