Description

Every guitar from Taylor Builder's Edition is a special one that showcases the best of what their El Cajon factory has to offer. But with that in mind, their 717e sets a new high-water mark for the Builder's Edition line, effortlessly combining Taylor's innovative engineering with the meaty and bass-heavy sound of their Grand Pacific body shape. The Sitka spruce top has been torrefied so as to get the guitar as loud and as open as possible, and the top compliments the solid Indian rosewood on the back and sides very well, adding punch and extra-bright highs that call to mind a vintage guitar, rather than a brand new one. Nice appointments like the sapele binding and the hardwood rosette add a little elegance, but the most eye-catching part is undoubtedly the Wild Honey Burst finish - a rich sepia finish on the top that adds to the guitar's vintage vibe. The 717e comes with Taylor's patented Expression II pickup system, as well as a deluxe Western Floral hard-shell case.
