Description

It's a real blast from the past from our pals at Taylor Guitars - the California-based manufacturer has reintroduced one of their most popular US-made models, the 514ce, in its original wood combination of red cedar and tropical mahogany, as part of their what's-old-is-new-again Legacy Series. While the low action and ultra-playable neck are still unmistakably Taylor, this new 514ce Legacy pays homage to the company's classic sound, and even features X-bracing under the top for a more direct and percussive tone, with less of the smooth and sugary sustain that we tend to associate with their proprietary V-class bracing system. In another nod to their history, Taylor have even opted for an L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup (rather than their patented Expression 2 system), evoking the character of some of the manufacturer's early successes over more than 50 years of guitar building. This is a unique model and comes as part of a limited run, and we expect it to make new adherents just as easily as it piques the interest of older Taylor fans. Included in the price is a hard-shell case.
