Description

While we've carried a wide variety of fretless banjos from a number of manufacturers, this stunning 11" Maple Tubaphone from Ontario's Bill Rickard is something truly new to our store - a half-fretless, with a brass overlay that obscures the first seven frets but leaves the bottom half of the neck open for extra precision. Not only does it make for the best of both worlds from a musical perspective, it's also just about the most visually stunning open-back we've ever had in our store and represents the impressive level of craftsmanship that's made Rickard Banjos such an instant hit with our customers. As the name suggests, this instrument boasts a formidable Tubaphone tone ring under the hood for a present, clear tone in higher positions, and features some highly flamed maple on both the neck and the pot. Rickard completes the package visually with brass hardware, star inlays, and an overlay on the fretboard scoop to match the one over the first seven frets, as well as Rickard Cyclone planetary tuners with dalmatian amber buttons. Included in the price is a Superior hard-shell case.
