Description
Ome's Colorado era seems poised to become the stuff of legend, and the price of even their most workmanlike banjos has seen an uptick since the Boulder factory closed its doors early in 2023. This 2017 Jubilee is indicative of all the things we loved best about the first 60 years of Ome's history - a bright sound, an ultra-playable, supple neck, and premium tonewoods designed to appeal to even the most discerning pickers. This Jubilee features all maple construction and an 11 inch pot for a direct, clear tone full of shimmering trebles that can capably cut through the sound of a stringband, but shows off its complexity and richness when played solo, too. Ome adorned the instrument with some gorgeous abalone inlay work, including a moon and stars on the fingerboard and the headstock, and stained the maple with an amber matte finish that doesn't obscure the figuring in the wood.
This instrument arrived in our store in excellent condition, with next to no playing wear that serves to separate it from a new banjo. The set up is very good and errs on the lower side of medium for players with a lighter touch. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
