Description

The Ode Magician is a storied moniker in the lineage of Ode's open-back banjos - a model with decades of history behind it, dating back to before Chuck Ogsbury started building banjos under the name Ome instead. With that sort of a chip on its shoulder, it's a real joy to confirm to our customers that the new Ode Magicians live up to the hype and continue Mr Ogsbury's tradition of excellent clawhammer banjos geared at the intermediate to advanced players. This Ode even compares favorably to some of Ome's more modest models, with a bright and crisp sound thanks to its cherry neck and flamed maple pot, making this a great option for players who love the sound of Ome Banjos but prefer more subdued cosmetics (as well as a lower price). A full frailing scoop makes this a perfect tool for playing fiddle tunes, and the lightweight pot ensures the tone stays bright, punchy, and capable of cutting through the sound of an old-time stringband. Simply put, we love this banjo and are excited to see what's next from Ode. Included in the price is a padded gig bag by Ome Banjo Company.
