Description
The biggest thing in mandolins just got even bigger! While Northfield's flagship model, the NFB-F5E, already eclipses most F-style instruments with a slightly wider body and a thumpier, bass-heavy tone, this upgraded version features a wider nut to help accommodate players with bigger hands, or who just prefer the added comfort of a larger fingerboard. That makes this fantastic eight-string all the more satisfying to play, and pickers who already know and love the Northfield sound will be glad to hear that the rest of the specs are unchanged - an Engelmann spruce top pairs with a figured maple neck, back, and sides for an impressive tone that already sounds played-in right out of the box. The "Big Mon" also features a sunburst varnish finish, which lends some vintage-inspired beauty to the instrument without muffling the natural projection of the tonewood. Included in the price is an Airloom Recurve hard-shell case.
