Description
The Martin D-28 has always been a fixture of the recording booth, with high profile appearances on countless classic records. But the simple addition of a cutaway and a pickup turns the D-28 into perhaps the ideal gigging instrument, too, without sacrificing a bit of the booming low end and crystal clear trebles that made this guitar Martin's flagship option. Dating from 2006, this lightly used DC-28E has quickly become a staff favorite, and is the first guitar we hand to acoustic rock players and country pickers who need a powerhouse dreadnaught to lean into on stage. Its electric voice is provided by an excellent Fishman Aura dual-source active pickup, which still holds pace with newer pickups and puts out a hot, clear signal. As with the stock D-28, this DC-28E features the minimal, classic aesthetics that make Martins so unmistakable, with multi-layer binding and purfling, a multi-ring rosette, mother-of-pearl fretboard inlays, and a 28 style wood inlay on the backstripe.
This instrument arrived in our store in very good condition, with wear well below the norm for a guitar of its age. There is no evidence of significant repair work, and most visual wear is isolated to minor scuffing on the guitar's top and pickguard. All hardware is original, and the pickup is in excellent working condition. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
*Please note, per our return policy, all sales on used and consignment instruments are final.*
