Description
While it may be hard to improve on the sound of a D-18, it's our opinion at the DFC that a good sunburst makes every guitar look better. Added as a custom appointment to this otherwise stock Martin classic, the 1935 Sunburst finish pumps up the cool factor of this big, nasty dreadnaught by at least an extra 110 percent and adds a touch of vintage-inspired flair to your music, from the stage to the studio. As with all D-18s, this one combines a Sitka spruce top with a mahogany back and sides for a balanced, full-bodied tone with powerful mids and clear trebles to complement the naturally boomy low end of the guitar. Scalloped Golden Era bracing adds a long, rich sustain time to the instrument's voice, which has remained a standby in virtually all styles of contemporary music since the model was first introduced nearly 100 years ago. They say the classics never go out of style - but sometimes they benefit from a new coat of paint. Included in the price is a Martin hard-shell case.
