Martin D-17M (2013)

Description

Martin's 17 series has long been a bit of a catch-all line for the Nazareth manufacturer, with the constituent models sometimes changing radically from year to year. Between 2013 and 2015, one of those models was the D-17M, a great, all solid wood dreadnaught that we wish was still available new. This one, from 2013, shows off why these guitars were so highly thought of while they were still in production. Like its older brother, the D-18, the D-17M features a spruce top and a mahogany back, sides, and neck, for a big, vibrant sound that meshes nicely with lots of different styles of play and genres of music. It also features a picturesque, amber gloss finish on the top for a little bit of extra visual pop.

Visual wear is typical to below-typical, with a few small scuffs and dents on the guitar's top, as is consistent with a normal amount of use. The neck is very straight and the guitar boasts comfortable action up and down the neck, but particularly in first position. Two aftermarket alterations were made to the guitar - the owner has had a K&K Pure Mini passive piezo pickup installed, and also installed a chrome strap button in the neck heel. We consider this guitar to be on the upper end of very good condition. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
