Description

A familiar face makes a return to the Folklore Center in the shape of this sprightly 2020 Mandolindo Artist, a flat top four-string mandolin that we carried brand new just a few short years ago. As the project of KR Strings' Kilin Reece, the mandolindo was a new take on the luthier's early successes designing guitar-bodied octave mandolins for Pono Musical Instruments in the late 2010s, comported to an ultra compact, single-course design for a bright, bell-like tone. The Artist model combined a Sitka spruce top with a mahogany neck and an Indian rosewood back and sides for a fuller and more resonant tone than one typically hears out of a mandolin - be advised, this is not a bluegrass instrument. Instead, tear out some Baroque music or an Irish reel on this thing and you'll see where the Artist really shines, and why we love it enough to sell it a second time.

This instrument arrived in our store in excellent condition, with essentially no playing wear whatsoever. The action is still very playable and the neck's relief is altogether mild and comfortable. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.

*Please note, per our return policy, all sales on used and consignment instruments are final.*
