Description
While we love just about every Larrivée that makes its way through our doors, we're impressed in particular with the company's ability to reimagine even tried and true designs into something distinctive, modern, and fresh. This D-40R 12-Fret reworks the classic archetype of a spruce and rosewood dreadnaught into an instrument that works just as well as a tool for fingerstyle folk as it does for bluegrass flatpicking. Twelve-fret construction changes the feel of the strings and shifts the bridge down to nearly the widest point of the top, giving it a responsive and clear attack. Likewise, the sustain and volume is bolstered by Larrivée's innovative hybrid bracing, hand-scalloped for a unique and impressive tone. An abalone vine inlay on the headstock adds a premium finishing touch not found on the standard D-40R. Included in the price is a hard-shell case.
