Description

The Gold Tone GME-4 is one of the most unique instruments we've had in our shop in recent memory. Not only is it a fully electric, solid-bodied mandolin, but it only has four strings, instead of the traditional eight! We carry a number of other electric mandolins in our store, ranging from electric-acoustic mandolins like the Eastman MD-605, which is a true acoustic mandolin with an acoustic pickup installed, and the Eastman El Rey, a semi-hollow mandolin designed to be played plugged in, but the GME-4 is the furthest we've gone down the road of the fully electric mandolin so far. With a striking double-cutaway design more reminiscent of the electric guitar, and extremely easy playability thanks to having half as many strings as your typical mandolin, the GME-4 isn't anything like your typical mandolin, but has a sound and playing feel all its own. The electronics utilise one single-coil neck pickup with corresponding volume and tone knobs. Included in the price is a Gold Tone gig bag.
