Description
Gibson's reissues of classic models have resulted in some great modern versions of a few of their most beloved guitars - including the J-35, the lesser known sibling of the company's iconic J-45. This one, from 2017, has all the sparkle and punch that we associate with Gibson's 40s and 50s flat-top acoustics, making it a real delight to play even for the discerning player. From the tonewoods right down to the neck contour, the reproduction is impressively authentic, and we love to see the banner headstock logo reincorporated into a modern guitar. Nonetheless, Gibson have included a few modern conveniences here, best of which is an L.R. Baggs Element undersaddle pickup, for a great sound when plugged in.
Playing wear is fairly minimal on this instrument, and its set up is excellent, with low, playable action in all positions that suit it to just about any style of music you'd care to name. A very small amount of dents and pick divots on the top distinguish this guitar from a brand new one, and it has never undergone any significant amount of repairs. We consider it to be in very good condition. At some point, this guitar parted ways with its original case and now comes with a non-original hard-shell case, which fits it very well.
