While the fine folks at Eastman Strings make a wide variety of excellent mandolins, we truly feel that the MD-605 is a real highlight and a hidden gem in their lineup - you simply won't find anyone else building an instrument this good anywhere near this price point. A spruce top and a flamed maple neck, back, and sides gives this model a rich treble response with loads of projection, but never at the expense of the sweetness or warmth that one looks for from a higher-end A-style. Eastman match the premium sound with premium appointments, including mother-of-pearl block inlays on the fingerboard, an ebony pickguard, and an eye-catching full gloss goldburst finish. It even comes with a K&K Mandolin Twin passive piezo pickup pre-installed, making it gig-ready right out of the box. Included in the price is an Eastman hard-shell case.
