Description

While most major American manufacturers have moved away from parlor-sized instruments, Eastman's commitment to this often misunderstood and underutilized shape has made the company a favorite of ragtime and fingerstyle blues musicians. This 2022 E20P is a perfect example - not just a small-bodied period instrument, but a beautiful guitar built to exacting standards with high-quality materials. Eastman opted for an Adirondack spruce top in combination with a mahogany neck and an Indian rosewood back and sides for a powerful tone replete with warm, syrupy lows and bright, bell-like overtones. The E20P shines both when played fingerstyle as well as with a pick, and a few years of playing in have begun to open up the tonewoods and turn the guitar into the fantastic little instrument it's always been meant to be. Subtle, vintage-inspired appointments like an abalone diamonds and squares fingerboard inlay pattern and herringbone binding complete the package visually. We love this guitar and have a hunch you'll love it too.

This E20P arrived in our store in excellent condition, with very light playing wear well below the norm. Evidence of playing time is limited to very light scuffing on the pickguard and the headstock, and there is no structural damage or evidence of repair. The set up is still excellent, and is set at a true medium with fingerstyle folk players in mind. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
