Description
Cordoba are undoubtedly best known for their traditional classical builds, but they can make a mean flamenco crossover as well, as evidenced by this 2002 FCWE Gipsy King. With a shallow, thinline body, a high-end Fishman PreFix pickup, a Venetian cutaway and a cypress back and sides, this is certainly not an instrument for playing Bach or Brouwer - but it excels in rhythmic backup roles and has a punchy, bright tone up and down the neck and responds well to a heavy right hand. Despite its contemporary design and playabilitty, Spanish-informed cosmetic touches like the mosaic rosette and hardwood binding slot this one neatly into Cordoba's lineup and make it a delight to look at as well as to hear.
This instrument arrived in our store in excellent condition relative to its age. Overall playing and cosmetic wear is remarkably light for an instrument over 20 years old, and the set up and action are excellent and respond well to a wide variety of playing styles, including flamenco, classical, and manouche jazz. The electronics are in excellent working condition. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
