Description
Bring a little bit of the old west into your style and sound with this awesome 2016 Collings D1H-SB. Featuring the trademark Collings quality and attention to detail, the D1 is one of their most popular guitars, but Collings have gone and made a good thing better with a Western Shade sunburst finish, taking after the classic Martin shade top design. Herringbone binding, as per usual, denotes hand-scalloped X-bracing, giving the D1H-SB outstanding sustain and volume even beyond most dreadnaughts. Other nice appointments include the rosewood strap button, ivoroid binding on both the body and neck, and the Collings tortoise-pattern pickguard. The low end is extraordinarily present for a guitar with mahogany on the back and sides, and the Sitka spruce top is already quite open despite the guitar's low mileage. It also features a near-perfect set up, with plenty of versatility for any style of music, but especially well suited to country and western, open position playing. It is stage-ready, with an L.R. Baggs Anthem installed after-market.
This guitar has been well maintained, and has required no major repairs over its lifetime. We consider it to be in very good condition. Included in the price is the original Collings proprietary hard-shell case, from before the company outsourced case production to TKL.
