Description

Another fine addition to our store from Bourgeois Guitars, this used Slope D from 2006 has all the bass and warmth one looks for in a dreadnought guitar, plus the eye-catching looks that only a sunburst top can provide. This particular model features solid Adirondack spruce on top for the extra driving highs especially sought after by bluegrass guitarists, and a lush Honduran mahogany on the back and sides. Abalone and mother of pearl inlays (on the headstock and fretboard, respectively) add to the visual allure to one of the finest-looking guitars we currently have in our inventory. The Slope D is inspired by classic 20th century slope-shoulder dreadnoughts like the Gibson J-45, but with the added finer touches and beautiful craftsmanship we've come to expect from Dana Bourgeois and his luthiery shop. Sound-wise, the Slope D has a rounded and direct low end complimented by chiming, complex overtones that have begun to open up beautifully over the last 15 years. This guitar is in excellent condition, but does sport minor scuffs on the pickguard and above the soundhole, and one on the lower bout, all typical of a guitar of its age. Included in the sale price is the original hard shell case.
