This Eastman E20D Custom Guitar has a very cool story… The guitar was commissioned in 2015 by world renowned wood supplier Old Standard Wood. The Adirondack Spruce soundboard and bracing was specially picked out of 250,000 sets by the experts of Old Standard and then sent to the Eastman factory for graduation to specifications supplied by OSW. In addition, Old Standard supplied and milled the select New York Sugar Maple bridge plate. The people of the Eastman Guitar Company then paired this special top wood, bracing, and bridge plate with Indian Rosewood sides and back to make an exquisite Eastman E20D Guitar.
The round neck feels great in your hands and is large without being overly bulky. The 1-3/4” nut width makes for a little more room between your fingers. The tiger stripe pickguard and herringbone binding with side pin striping are visually simple but combined make for a very attractive guitar. Tonally the instrument is very present and has both a booming dreadnought low end and a crisp and vibrant treble tone. The instrument is in very good condition but does have one small finish crack about an inch long on the soundboard. The finish goes cross grain and is of no structural concern at all.
We think this Eastman will make someone looking for a fantastic dreadnought tone at an affordable price very happy.
