Description

Taylor add a different tone, style, and flavor to their flagship 814ce with the nylon-string variant, the 814ce-N. This splendid, lightly used 2020 model combines the best attributes of the California-based manufacturer's signature sound with the naturally warm and vibrant voice of a hybrid-style classical guitar - this is a unique, fantastic tool for making music unlike any other. Just like the stock 814ce, Taylor's nylon-string option combines a Sitka spruce top with an Indian rosewood back and sides for a bell-like tone with very present trebles and lows. These woods are then crafted and set to Taylor's most popular full-size body shape, the Grand Auditorium, for a bigger body than a standard classical but with a playable and comfortable contour nonetheless. Rather than opt for V-class bracing, Taylor use a proprietary fan bracing design to keep the spruce top moving, and add a cutaway to allow for easy access to the upper frets. The slightly radiused, one-and-seven-eighths neck conforms nicely to the player's hand and makes the 814ce-N user friendly to classical, flamenco, and steel-string acoustic players alike. Finally, Taylor install their ES-N classical pickup under the saddle, for a voice perfectly suited to the sound of nylon strings.

This guitar arrived in our store in very good condition, with relatively light playing wear consistent with careful and mindful use by its one owner. All parts are original, and the electronics are in excellent working order. It has recently seen a full professional set up including a fret level, dress, and crown to optimize playability in all areas of the neck. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
