Taylor's Builder's Edition line has become synonymous with some of the best craftsmanship and quality-of-build currently available in a production guitar, and each one that we see seems to set a new high water mark for the California-based manufacturer. This one, modeled on Taylor's 614ce, continues that trend, and boasts premium tonewoods, high-end appointments, and some top-level upgrades that separate it from the stock 614ce for a truly deluxe playing experience. With a torrefied Sitka spruce top and big leaf maple on the back and sides, this axe packs a powerful, percussive punch with lots of volume, fundamentals, and an impressively open sound. In addition to the torrefied top wood, Taylor have also included Gotoh 21:1 tuning machines, chamfered ebony binding, and a wild honey burst satin as Builder's Edition upgrades. Like the stock 614ce, this guitar also features Taylor's patented V-class bracing as well as their Expression II active pickup system - meaning it's already stage-ready. Included in the price is a hard-shell case.
