Rumley Western 'Strumberg' Archtop (2012)

Description

This large bodied jazz guitar was hand made by Luthier extraordinaire John Rumley in the shop of The Denver Folklore Center back in 2012. This was designed after the  Stromberg Master 400 archtop with a huge 19" lower bout. All solid sitka spruce on top that he hand graduated as well as solid figured maple sides and hand graduated back. The art-deco style pick guard is made of tortoise bound ebony. This is quite a stunning piece from John Rumley, who specialized in hand made archtops.

This has some signs of play wear (most notably two wear spots on the bottom of the headstock where it probably lived in a wall hanger) and some slight imperfections in the finish here and there- All part of the joys of a hand-made instrument. The guitar has an excellent set up with low action and is currently strung with flatwound strings and comes with a large padded gigbag.
