Ome 11" North Star (2022)

Description

Ome Banjo Company was the pride of Colorado back in the days when they were built right up the road from us - and this 2022 11" North Star, dating from the tail end of their Boulder production run, shows exactly why. All maple construction combines with a rolled brass tone ring for the platonic ideal of Ome's signature sound, with warm lows, clear highs, and a slightly scooped midrange for more cutting power than one normally hears from an open-back banjo. It's no slouch on the cosmetic front, either, with ornate inlays on the neck and headstock, a hand-rubbed merlot matte finish that doesn't obscure the natural figuring in the wood, aged brass hardware, and a hardwood armrest. It's one of the very best open-backs we've currently got in our shop, and one of the very last of its kind now that the Ome name has changed hands.

This one-owner instrument arrived in our store in mint condition, with no wear to separate it from a brand new one. It's been played fewer than ten hours overall and features no cosmetic wear whatsoever. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
