Description

While he may be famous primarily for his ultra-modern and carefully engineered five-strings, Nechville's Classic DLX unites new and old in a striking instrument poised to appeal to a wide audience. This one, a lightly used model from 2021, stands apart from everything else on our sales floor, perfectly meshing Tom Nechville's space-age innovation with the look, sound, and feel of a far more traditional instrument. Combining a maple neck, pot, and resonator with Nechville's Professional 20-hole tone ring and a Cyclotronic tonal system, the Classic DLX is bright, loud, and twangy while remaining easy to play, work on, and adjust. Aimed at the professional gigging musician, the Classic DLX even features a pop-off resonator for players who like to do a bit of everything during their set. A handful of minor cosmetic differences set this one apart from a new Classic DLX, with more minimal fingerboard inlays, a rosewood headstock overlay, and a figured tonewood on the fingerboard, which may or may not be ebony.

This instrument arrived in our store in very good condition. The set up, neck angle, and overall sound and playability are excellent. Cosmetic damage is limited to minor finish delamination around the resonator binding, which may be as a result of drying out, but may also have come from the banjo being dropped at some point. We have chosen not to do any of the elective finish work and do not believe this banjo is a candidate for refinishing. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.

*Please note, per our return policy, all sales on used and consignment instruments are final.*
