Description

Martin make fine guitars up and down their production line, and we've been a big fan of their 16 series for some time now. Guitars ending in a 16 designation from Martin have changed in specs and tonewoods over the years, but lately they've been coming with solid granadillo on the back and sides, a dark, bass-rich material reminiscent of rosewood, but at a significantly lower cost. In combination with the mid-sized 000 body and the shorter scale length, the granadillo balances the brightness of the guitar's build and ensures that the instrument has enough richness and low end to still hold its own while playing with other musicians. To boot, this guitar comes pre-installed with a Fishman VT Enhance pickup that produces a great amplified representation of the natural acoustic sound of the guitar. The Enhance system features an onboard preamp to warm up the sound as little or as much as the player likes, depending on the venue and the role of the instrument. Finally, the 000-16e comes with a great padded gig bag from Martin, offering protection without the heft of a hard shell case.
