Description
Arthur Hatfield may no longer be with us, but his life's work continues in the form of the tremendous banjos he built. This 2024 Buck Creek may have been one of Hatfield's more basic offerings, but it's still a wonderful, vintage-inspired resonator designed for the serious performer in mind, and we're proud to have it in our store. With all mahogany construction and a real-deal 20-hole flathead tone ring, the Buck Creek splits the difference between authentic, mid-century twang and a warm, modern sound for new approaches in bluegrass. Hatfield adorned this one with a full gloss finish and extensive inlay work in mother-of-pearl for a classic bit of flash that immediately calls to mind storied instruments of the past without relying on mere imitation - you'd never know this was the most basic option in Arthur's production line.
This instrument arrived in our store in very good condition. There's some light to moderate wear on the armrest and the head, both indicative of regular play and well within the range of normalcy for a year-old instrument. Otherwise, the overall cosmetic condition of the banjo is excellent, and it sounds and plays great in all positions. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
*Please note, per our return policy, all sales on used and consignment instruments are final.*
