Taking after the petite bouche style guitars played by such luminaries of the gypsy jazz style as Baro Ferret, Angelo Debarre, and of course, Django Reinhardt, this Eastman DM1-CLA is an affordable and wonderfully authentic take on the unique manouche design that continues to win listeners and players over today. The guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top and laminated rosewood on the back and sides (laminates being more typical in jazz guitar builds), but features a solid maple neck to maintain the bite and percussive sound that hot club jazz players love. The DM1 was designed in conjunction with esteemed gypsy jazz player Doug Martin, to ensure that it meets the exacting standards that performers look for from a new instrument. This guitar features Eastman's classic dark sepia finish but modest appointments, to ensure that the emphasis is on your playing, not a flashy guitar. The DM1-CLA comes with an Eastman-branded padded bag.
