Description

While every Collings mandolin comes into our shop ready to be played, there's something uniquely magical about this brand new MT O that immediately drew every picker on our staff to it. This gorgeous oval-hole has one of the most responsive and present tones we've ever heard in a new A-style, with a warm, rich sound perfect for Americana, Celtic, or tasteful re-imaginings of classical works, with rich lows and mids that immediately set it apart from the pack. Every MT O ships stock with a premium Englemann spruce top paired with a maple neck, back, and sides, but Collings opt for X-bracing under the hood for a distinct tone unlike most other A-styles currently in production. As custom upgrades, we opted for a single-bound ivoroid body and soundhole, as well as ivoroid tuner buttons, which we feel set off very nicely against the matte merlot finish. We're thrilled to represent this instrument and are looking forward to handing it to its first owner. Included in the price is a hard-shell case, manufactured for Collings by TKL.
