Description

Collings have created a 12-fret monster with the DS1, and with a few custom shop upgrades, we've ensured it looks just as good as it sounds. The DS1 combines a premium Sitka spruce top with a Honduran mahogany neck, back, and sides, all crafted into a slope shoulder design with a big, wide neck, for a playing experience that instantly recalls the 12-fret dreadnaughts used by flatpicking legend Norman Blake. We opted for a sunburst finish and a tiger-stripe pickguard to add a bit of extra visual flair to this already gorgeous instrument, as well as to set it apart from the litany of pre-war Martin clones already available. This DS1SB boasts a bright and full-bodied tone that will only get richer with time, with responsive lows and powerful highs alike, and we're very excited to hand it off to its first owner. Included in the price is a Collings hard-shell case, manufactured for the company by TKL.
