Description
National Resophonic's Style 1 is one of their most iconic instruments, with the first models appearing over 100 years ago - but not many people realize that the company also made Style 1 ukuleles, which carry the same level of panache and display the same caliber of Depression-era functional craftsmanship as the company's lauded steel guitars. As with its larger, six-stringed sibling, the Style 1 Resophonic Ukulele features a single, Tricone-style spun aluminum cone, a diamond sieve coverplate, and a biscuit bridge - but with the spunky, vibrant tone that only a vintage uke can provide. A nickel-plated bell brass body not only sounds good, but looks good, too, in the polished chrome finish that have made National an unmistakable mainstay in the world of acoustic music from Day 1.
We consider this instrument to be in good condition. Cosmetic condition is very good, with a relatively minor amount of cosmetic wear and scuffing, with most major scuffs limited to the back. All parts, including the cone and coverplate, appear to be original. Playing condition is fair, with a buzz which is most noticeable on the inner strings due to neck warping and contact between the strings and the coverplate. As correcting this buzz would require replacing the coverplate, we have elected not to do the required set up work and are selling the instrument in as-is condition for either light play or display purposes. Included in the price is a non-original gig bag.
*Please note, per our return policy, all sales on used and consignment instruments are final.*
