Description
OMI Dobros are still, to many players, the gold standard in square-neck resonator guitars, and this sweet little 1988 60DS shows why. The 60DS was the workhorse model of OMI's Dobro line at the time, with all the things players look for from an intermediate dobro, but lacking some of the flashy appointments that drive price on OMI's more deluxe models. With an all-laminate maple construction and a spun aluminum cone, the 60DS has a bright sound with a little less edge to it than a metal body, making it well-suited for use in a bluegrass band.
All the parts on this dobro are original, and there is very little in apparent playwear. There is some light scuffing on the back, but well below the typical amount one would see on a 40-year-old instrument. The coverplate shows next to no signs of pick-wear. All in all, we consider this dobro to be in excellent condition. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
