National Tricone Style 1 Baritone (2001)

When it was introduced in 1925, National called the Tricone "the greatest musical sensation of the age", and even decades after the model's introduction, it's hard to argue with that claim. This 2001 National Tricone Style 1 Baritone is flat out one of the coolest guitars we've ever had in our store, with an amazing low register for a sound like no other. All Tricones feature, as the name suggests, an array of three spun aluminum cones for a big, bold sound, especially when paired with National's trademark nickel-plated brass body and coverplate. The snarling, bassy sound is perfect for Americana, alt-country, or contemporary fingerstyle blues, but could find a place in any guitarist's collection.

This guitar has seen little playing time comparable to the average over the last 20 years, with not much in the way of playing wear, dents, or scratches. There's some minor finish wear on the back, which can only be seen when examined closely under direct light. The set-up is low and about as playable as one will find on a baritone guitar, and the neck is very straight. We consider it to be in excellent condition. Included with the guitar is its original hard-shell case.
