Description
Collings' MF may be the go-to bluegrass mandolin, but nobody can claim that pedigree comes cheap, as new ones oftentimes command sky-high prices. With that in mind, whenever we come across a used MF, we absolutely leap at the opportunity to pass a great deal on to our customers. This very lightly loved instrument from late 2021 has been a welcome addition to our mandolin wall, and boasts plenty of the bright and complex tone Collings have become known for. The MF comes stock with an Adirondack spruce top and an eastern flamed maple neck, back, and sides, but this particular instrument also comes with a wider, one-and-three-sixteenths of an inch nut as well as a grained ivoroid single-bound top. That added visual pop and superb playability make it one of our favorite F-styles in the store, and we have no doubt that its next owner will feel very lucky indeed.
This instrument arrived in our store in excellent condition, with virtually no playing wear to speak of. The set up is still in line with factory specifications, and remains low and playable in all positions. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case, manufactured for Collings by TKL.
