Description
Despite a litany of imitators, there's still only one Collings - and the Texas manufacturer's mandolins just seem to get better and better. This brand new MT has lit up the eyes of every one of us here who've had the opportunity to play it, with a bright, projecting sound brimming with ultra-clear high overtones. We ordered this MT with a one-and-three-sixteenths wide nut for some extra real estate on the fretboard to help accomodate pickers with larger fingers (or for those of us who simply want a little more space to maneuver when the tempo at the jam picks up). The MT ships stock with an Engelmann spruce top and an eastern flamed maple neck, back, and sides, for a classic tone with enough versatility to tackle progressive modern acoustic music. To top it off, we opted for a beautiful tobacco burst finish on top, for a woodsy and vintage-inspired look that sets it apart from the pack. Included in the price is a Collings hard-shell case, manufactured for the company by TKL.
