Description
In the early 1940s the Gibson Company made a limited series of instruments called the Oriole under their Kalamazoo brand. The series included a flat-top guitar, arch-top guitar, mandolin, and a lap steel- all made with figured maple back and sides in a natural blonde finish and featuring a small decal of an Oriole bird.Just a few years ago Collings Guitars introduced their line of Waterloo instruments as their take on the classic Gibson Kalamazoo line. This new Waterloo WL-14 Scissortail is Collings' take on the Kalamazoo Oriole flat top guitar. During the 1930s and 1940s many Gibson guitars had prominent V profile shaped necks and Collings has reintroduced that on the Scissortail and other Waterloo guitars.
Beautifully simple. A true retro reissue.
Includes a Collings Waterloo TKL Hardshell Case.
