Taylor 618e (2021)

Description

While we don't typically stock any of Taylor's jumbo-sized guitars, this very lightly used 618e from 2021 was just too sweet for us to pass up. Taylor balance the giant, bassy sound of the Grand Orchestra shape with a formidable and bright set of tonewoods - Sitka spruce on top, and big leaf maple on the back and sides. That helps give the 618e a real roar and strong fundamental frequencies, and the picturesque flaming in the maple helps make this instrument a real thing of beauty, too. Taylor also opt for some nice flair in the guitar's visual appointments, with inlays that vary between paua, mother-of-pearl, grained ivoroid, and celluloid, and utilise gorgeous rock maple for the binding, with a grain that effortlessly contrasts against the big leaf maple. Finally, it comes with Taylor's trademark Expression II active pickup system pre-installed, for a rich, true-to-life sound when amplified.

This guitar arrived in our store in excellent condition, with very little in the way of cosmetic wear. The only visible damage that distinguishes it from a new instrument is a 1cm crack that runs through finish over the binding directly below the center seam on the top. This crack does not go through to the binding itself and does not require repair at this time. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
