Description
While our gut instinct when it comes to 12-frets is often to dismiss them as instruments for fingerpicking and nothing else, we've been extremely impressed with the versatility of Taylor's 312ce 12-Fret, a surprisingly loud and full-bodied small-to-mid-sized option for the serious player who does a bit of everything during their set. Like Taylor's other 300 Series options, the 312ce features a Sitka spruce top paired with a tropical mahogany neck in combination with a sapele back and sides. Taylor balance the natural brightness of those tonewoods with sleek V-class bracing for a punchy sound that retains its clarity and character all the way up the neck, encouraging the player to exploit its perfectly contoured Venetian cutaway and shoot for the high notes. The 312ce 12-Fret comes stock with the company's Expression 2 active pickup system, for the gold standard in timbral fidelity when amplified. Included in the price is a hard-shell case.
