Description
Resonator guitars are more niche than they were during their heyday in the 1920s and 30s - but no less cool, and the vibrant sound of a metal body is still as appealing as ever. This National Triolian from 1933 comes from the golden age of the round neck resonator and still plays and sounds great. A particularly rare model from National's B Series (made only in the year 1933), this instrument also features an unbelievable Duco frost finish in a pale teal green on the surface of the instrument. From a distance, this finish simply looks like the typical relicing common on resonator guitars, but up close, the intricate, snowflake-like patterns are truly dazzling.
Condition-wise, the finish has worn off in a few places, and there is some wear on the fretboard around first position, but this is all well within the realm of acceptability on an instrument over 80 years of age. The fourth and first string tuners are a bit bent, but all are functional and original. This guitar has also been recently set up and is very easy to play in standard as well as open G and open D. We would consider this instrument in good condition, and the sound is of course exceptional. It comes with a period-correct hard shell case.
