Description
While there's certainly something to be said for the modest and understated aesthetics on most of Martin's Standard Series instruments, it's tough to call this HD-28 Ambertone anything other than one of the best-looking new guitars we've ever had the pleasure of selling. Just like a stock HD-28, this bad little bluegrass machine features a spruce top and a rosewood back and sides for a powerful, bell-like sound that perfectly balances lows and highs. Under the hood, the guitar features scalloped X-bracing for an impressive sustain time and strong fundamentals that make it a natural fit as a do-it-all workhorse in a stringband. In addition to the finish, the guitar is visually supplemented by a classic cream binding and herringbone purfling combination on the single-bound body, as well as Martin's classic abalone squares and diamonds pattern on the fingerboard. Included in the price is a hard-shell case.
