Description

The HD-28 is one of Martin's most popular guitars for good reason - it's everything players love about Martin's flagship D-28 model but better, with more lows, cleaner highs, a louder voice, and incredible sustain. This 1976 HD-28 wandered its way into our store and already has opened up wonderfully over nearly 50 years, giving it an impressive roar perfect for bluegrass. Like a D-28, it features a Sitka spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides, but the difference is in the beautifully scalloped interior bracing, allowing the guitar to howl to its heart's content. 1976 was the first year that Martin introduced this model, so you won't find an HD-28 more vintage than this one. Come on in and hear what this flatpicking machine can do!

This guitar is in very good condition for one of its age, with little in the way of cosmetic flaws apart from some minor scuffing and playing wear. There is some minor finish wear on the top bass side of the lower bout, but nothing overtly visible unless examined closely. It has already had its neck reset and the action is very good and playable in all positions, with almost no fret wear. It does not require set up work. Included in the price is the original Martin hard-shell case.
