It is hard to imagine that a Martin D-41 can get even better, but for the 40th anniversary of The Mandolin Brothers store on Long Island NY, Stanley Jay and his colleagues spec'd out a limited run of 10 Custom Shop guitars that bumped things up to the next level. Thus, the D-41 Turbo was born! This guitar is #6 of the run. It sports a beautifully grained Adirondack spruce top, and features 1/4" Adirondack bracing that has been forward shifted, and scalloped to help increase the volume and sustain of the guitar's top. Additionally, the 12th fret marker is in the shape of an F-style mandolin and made of Abalone and rosewood for the pickguard (it is the little details that make a difference!) All of this on top of the already stunning design of the D-41. There is very little wear on the guitar save for some very faint pick marking on the pickguard. There is some very slight yellowing around the rosette that we believe to just be part of the grain of the wood. It includes the original Geib style hard shell case.
