Description
We were thrilled to see this vintage D-35 come through our door at the Denver Folklore Center, and all the more excited to see that it features the rare shade top finish that can be hard to find on mid-70s Martins. The D-35 as a model practically needs no introduction - interested parties are probably already familiar with its thunderous low end that one-ups even the mighty D-28, but this particular model, a 1974 vintage in excellent condition, has among the most powerful low end and awe-inspiring volume of any guitar we currently have in our store. Perfectly suited for both the serious flatpicker as well as the capable musician who simply loves and appreciates a fine vintage guitar, this D-35 is built to typical Martin 1974 specs with Sitka spruce and Indian rosewood, a faded off-white binding, black pickguard, and original nickel Grover tuners, and comes with the classic teal blue hard shell case that lets everyone at the gig know you've got an old-school Martin with you. This displays a few typical flaws for an instrument of this vintage; namely a small crack on the back lower-bout that appears to be glued, as well as a small pickguard crack and a slightly shrinking pickguard.
