Description
Martin pay homage to the biggest name in modern flatpicking with their new D-28 Billy Strings signature model, a tweaked and revamped version of their timeless classic designed to appeal to new audiences and spark the imaginations of new players. The chassis will be familiar to all fans of what's arguably the Nazareth-based manufacturer's flagship model - this is still a 14-fret, square-shoulder, spruce and rosewood dreadnaught with booming lows and crisp trebles - but Martin have slightly altered the dimensions, with a short, 25 inch scale and a 1-and-23/32nds nut width for a different feeling guitar with softer string tension and a less strident attack. As with Martin's current Standard Series 28 models, the Billy Strings option features their Golden Era scalloped X-bracing for better low end and a longer and fuller sustain, and Martin also ship this one with upgraded Grover closed-gear tuners and authentic herringbone purfling. Included in the price is a Martin hard-shell case.
