Martin D-18GE (2008)

Description

While Martin have never stopped making great guitars, for many of us, the company's "Golden Era" is still king - the pre-war period when the company's classic dreadnaught guitars ruled country and western music. For those of us who cherish the sound of the manufacturer's storied, Depression-era instruments, Martin have introduced the D-18GE, a special edition of the D-18, one of their most popular and best known models. The D-18GE is built after a 1934 D-18, with a larger, more pronounced V taper in the neck, an Adirondack spruce top, a through saddle, and a tortoise-pattern celluloid pickguard. While not an exact replica of a Golden Era guitar, this instrument still has a more vintage voice and feel that will undoubtedly appeal to traditionalists and newcomers alike.

This 2008 D-18GE has arrived in our store in excellent condition and with next to no playing wear at all. The frets are in great shape and the action is low and very maneuverable in all positions. At some point in the past 14 years, the guitar parted ways with its original case, so it's instead paired with a dreadnaught hard shell case by Golden Gate that fits the instrument very well.
