Description

Martin's late 90s collaboration with master luthier Thomas Humphrey spawned some of the most interesting nylon-string guitars ever made by a major American manufacturer, and we're always thrilled when one makes its way into our store. This 1998 C-1R features most of the innovations that made Humphrey's Millennium such a landmark in the history of classical luthiery, with a tapered body depth, raised fingerboard, and the light lattice bracing that gave the Millennium its characteristic dry and powerful sound. With a mahogany neck, rosewood back and sides, and a cedar top, the C-1R is replete with warmth without sacrificing tonal balance, and has a dynamic and expressive sound perfect for contemporary repertoire. It's simply the perfect guitar for the intermediate classical player interested in forging a sound all their own.

This instrument came to us in excellent condition, with little in the way of playing wear - made all the more impressive by the fact that it's now approaching its 30th year. The set up is very good, with comfortable action in all positions, making this a versatile tool for all eras of guitar music. Included in the price is original hard shell case.
