For players looking for a punchy and authentic sound perfect for folk and blues, this 2016 Martin 000-17E, with a gorgeous "Whiskey Sunset" finish on the top, fits the bill better than just about any other guitar you'll find. Martin opt for minimal cosmetic flair, with a very light, open-pore finish and no fancy inlays or rosettes, instead putting all their resources into premium woods and authentic, vintage-style feel for a guitar that seems to punch above its weight class. The 000-17E's potent pairing of spruce with mahogany give the guitar a direct and present sound with lots of midrange and bite that allow the notes to leap right off the fingerboard. It also comes with a Fishman Matrix VT undersaddle pickup pre-installed, making amplification a snap for a guitar that demands to be played on stage.

This guitar shows next to nothing in the way of playing wear, and the set up is amenable to all playing styles. There are no cosmetic flaws in the top, back, or sides, and nothing that would impact playability. We consider it to be in excellent condition. Included in the price is the original Martin hard-shell case.
