While Larrivée's Gibson-inspired L shape may not be the first design players have in mind when they walk in to try out the company's wildly popular Simple 6 line, we feel strongly about these mid-sized monsters and find that they cover a wide array of guitarists' needs and wants. While smaller than a dreadnaught, the L shape's depth and wide waist give it a resonant and responsive low end that sounds bigger than it really is, as the guitar's solid spruce top and solid mahogany neck, back, and sides fill out the spectrum with clear highs and mids, respectively. Minimal cosmetics and simple appointments betray a priority placed on quality components and construction, and make this an instrument we love handing to every picker in our shop as a truly premium option. It's a W from us for the L shape. Included in the price is a Larrivée hard-shell case.
